Space Decelerator
Culture, Installation, Concept
With the Space Decelerator installation, created in 2006, visitors were invited to consciously experience the heterogeneous cityscape of Berlin. As a place of retreat in the middle of the big city, visitors could adopt new perspectives that allowed them to take a more thoughtful look at their everyday surroundings. At the same time, the installation made a distinct statement with its different surface and volume effects: the Space Decelerator does not integrate itself into the environment but stands out clearly, enriching its surroundings with unusual forms. The prototype served as a representative of the Gartenstadt Atlantic at the Designcity exhibition in the old Postfuhramt at Gleisdreieck and at the Urban Age event in the Postbahnhof Berlin.
