Rudolf Fränkel, the Gartenstadt Atlantic, and Berlin

With the modernisation and reurbanisation of the Gartenstadt Atlantic, the historical work of architect Rudolf Fränkel has after 70 years been resurrected. In order to bring his socially, ecologically, and culturally relevant concept of a reform housing estate in Berlin-Wedding to the public, bfstudio-architekten realised an exhibition on the life, work, and impact of the architect. Using a 20-metre-long wall display, interested visitors were able to explore the development of the Gartenstadt step by step and develop a feeling for their home and neighbourhood in this new era. Seating specially designed for the exhibition connected old and new ideas and provided an opportunity for lively conversations.
