Studio of Günther Ücker
Culture, Interior, Exhibition
For the studio and exhibition space of the artist Günther Uecker, established in Gartenstadt Atlantic in 2003, our low-tech concept called for a reduction of the furnishings and more transparency in the layout of the room. Through spacious openings and as few installments as possible, a strategy of deconstruction instead of expansion was pursued in order to achieve an aura-like spatial quality that could accommodate Uecker’s concentrated working method and minimalist works.
A public highlight in Uecker’s studio was the presentation of his creation cycles parallel to his retrospective at the Martin-Gropius-Bau and the Neue Nationalgalerie.
