Webinar “A journey to no net land take Ep. 2: Compact cities” on 24th of march 2025, organised by perspective.brussels

PlanningMatters presents « A journey to no net land take », a webinar series on how European cities, metropolitan areas and regions implement No Net Land Take.

The compact city favours relatively high residential density in multifunctional neighbourhoods.
Densification is often perceived as negative for quality of life, but this second episode explores how Helsinki and Berlin have managed to optimise the use of urban space while preserving their residents’ quality of life.

In this context, Benita Braun-Feldweg, architect and urban planner at bfstudio-architekten Berlin, and Bernhard Heitele from the Berlin Senate Department for urban development, housing and construction together participated with a presentation titled: “No Net Land Take – Quarter Ex-Flowermarket Berlin.”
